A few words about us

Let us introduce ourselves

Pier Pizza Company opened its doors on June 16th, 2000.  With its original location near its namesake – the Pier – in Narragansett, Rhode Island, this new shop brought authentic New York style pizza to Southern Rhode Island for the first time.

Ownership changed in October of 2015, and new leadership brought a renewed commitment to service, taste and consistency.  With locations on Main Street in Downtown Wakefield, and Post Road in North Kingstown, if you’re in Southern Rhode Island you’re never too far from Pier Pizza.  We hope you’ll come enjoy a slice of New York pie in little Rhody!

We at Pier Pizza believe that part of being a “local business” is being a part of the community and giving back.  In addition to supporting local youth sports, food pantries and animal shelters, local non-profit Let’s Read Rhode Island was created out of our North Kingstown location.  Let’s Read RI is a 501c3 non-profit that encourages, facilitates and rewards reading in K-5 students in Rhode Island.  To learn more please visit www.letsreadri.org

Pizza Kit Idea #1:
Make your own pizza! Follow the directions enclosed with each kit (also listed below) to make your own 14″ cheese pizza. Add your favorite toppings and you’ve got a great meal!

Directions
· Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Select cooking pan.
· On a dry, flat surface, sprinkle some flour. Flour both sides of the pizza dough. Using your finger tips, flatten the dough until all air bubbles are out. Using one hand to steady the dough, gently spread the dough with the other hand. (The dough spreads easier when it’s not too cold.)
· Spread some oil in the cooking pan. Place the stretched dough in the pan. Push it to the sides of the pan.
· Add sauce with a ladle using concentric circles.
· Add mozzarella to taste. Top with your favorite toppings.
· Cook on middle rack in oven for 10-15 minutes. Check frequently for air bubbles. If bubbling occurs, poke bubbles with a fork. Pizza is done when crust is golden brown. Pizza is hot when it comes out of the oven.
· Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then cut. Typically, a 14” pizza yields 8 slices of pizza; cut smaller if desired. Enjoy!
Alternative: use a pizza stone. Make pizza on a wooden paddle, and slide pizza onto heated stone in oven. (Oven at 450)

Pizza Kit Idea #2:
Make calzones! Cut the dough in half and flatten each piece into a semi-circle. Add your favorite ingredients on one half of the semi-circle and fold the empty half on top of the ingredients you just added. Using a fork poke holes in the top and repeat with other dough piece. Cook on a tray at 425 degrees for 6-12 minutes, checking periodically. Calzones will be done when dough is golden brown. Warm sauce and use for dipping.

We at Pier Pizza are committed to providing our customers with an amazing, and authentic, New York Style experience. Our North Kingstown store needs some much needed upgrades to continue to provide quality service to our customers in East Greenwich and North Kingstown.

From June 5th to June 8th, Pier Pizza in North Kingstown will have a delayed opening at 5pm for dinner. Following June 8th, Pier Pizza in North Kingstown will be closing temporarily to renovate and modernize our store. We hope to have renovations completed and reopen by July 14.

Pier Pizza is still committed to providing an Authentic New york Pizza experience. Our Wakefield location on Main St in South Kingstown will remain open for regular business hours. We hope to see our family, friends and neighbors in our communities join us in Wakefield!
